HTC Legend gallery: speak to me… ‘aluminium’

Let’s get this one out of the way first, shall we? I like them smart. I like’ em packed with as many extra features as possible, without sacrificing the basic functionality (too much) like telephony functions or battery life.  But what brings me to absolute tears of joy is when a smartphone has also an excellent built quality. Solid and with a noticeable weight to it, so it doesn’t feel like a cheap toy… more a like a very expensive toy, perhaps.

Now HTC’ Legend seems like the perfect fit for the job. It’s a mid-tier  Android running smartphone with well balanced-out features and is wrapped in a stylish aluminum unibody. Yet this devices stumbles, and stumbles hard on the very same things it tried to sell itself. The phone suffers from poor battery life and weak reception, especially wlan. After using this device for about a week, I’ve realized these issues were, in fact, deal breaking for me. Could  this be fixed in future fw updates? I wouldn’t know, because I’ve moved on since then.

But, despite these flaws, and despite not living up to it’s predecessor, the HTC Hero, I still consider Legend as one of the better looking Android smartphones out in the market. It unmistakably keeps a face of it’s own, something I’ve been struggling to see in the likes of HTC HD2/ Evo4G/ Desire HD currently ruling the high-end. I’ve uploaded a gallery, highlighting the beauty of this device, on FoneArena, so I urge you to check it out if you’re interested.
